Intro

 Iโ€™m sure youโ€™ve heard this multiple times, but the best way to start healthy habits is to start. Starting is the most difficult step, but it can also be the easiest. After a very short period of time from when youโ€™ve taken your first step, continuing that healthy habit will become so much more fluid and simpler.

Definition

Definition: A settled or regular tendency or practice, especially one that is hard to give up.

Example

You lay in bed every night scrolling on TikTok until 4am. You eventually feel like it has really taken a toll on you. Youโ€™re tired every morning, have no time for productivity, and feel unlike yourself constantly. You start by setting yourself a bedtime of 1am. You also decide to set your phone down at 12:30 to let your brain relax from the screen. A few weeks later, you move your bedtime to midnight, and put your phone down at 11:30. You realize that youโ€™re more energized, productive, and more focused.

Benefits

A clear benefit of practicing healthy habits is self-discipline and control. You learn that youโ€™re capable of managing your life and gain the productivity that comes alongside that. Another benefit is your wellness. If youโ€™re instilling a new and healthy habit, it will most likely positively affect your well-being.

Change

Think of a bad habit you practice that you want to change. Reflect on how itโ€™s affecting your life, and how you plan to change. Take small steps daily to improve yourself. If you ever feeling like breaking your good habit, remind yourself how it has affected your life and the consequences of breaking the bad habit.
